When our clients J and W came to us with ideas for a sustainable, mid-century modern backyard transformation, we jumped right in. They had already done a lot of planning themselves, so we provided guidance and support wherever they needed.
First up: J and W found themselves swamped with confusing vendor choices. We helped them compare every quote in detail to make a decision they felt great about. Next, when it came time for their new deck and patio to be built, we gave them personalized tips and insights to make kicking off construction a success. Finally, we helped J and W find the perfect outdoor furniture to complete their vision. Here is an overview of how we found them pieces that combined sustainable materials with mid-century modern design.

Finding the Perfect Outdoor Furniture
During our discovery conversation, we learned that J and W envisioned their backyard as having a mid-century modern style with wood elements surrounded by nature. Sustainability was also important for them, so we focused on pieces with sustainably-sourced materials, aluminum, and FSC-certified wood. We set to work discovering the perfect furniture.
There was another element to consider: J and W had already fallen in love with the Palissade aluminum outdoor dining set from Hay. We helped J and W explore alternatives, but in the end they decided to invest in their dream dining set.
This meant less leeway in the rest of the budget for other outdoor pieces. No problem! We’re all about meeting homeowners where they are and working with their decisions.
With the Hay dining set as a launch point, we found the best products to complement it yet still stay within the overall budget. Our customized furniture curations and one-on-one calls helped J and W settle on pieces they felt confident about. The result is a cohesive space that unites thoughtful design, family fun, and sustainability.
Even when the vendors have left and the furniture has arrived, we’re sticking around to help J and W ensure their future projects are a success.
